What is drilling?

“The process by which round leads are made with drill and drilling machine is called drilling”. Hence drilling is that machining action. By which holes are made in a solid material by giving rotational motion and axial motion to one of the tool and work. The drilling operation is performed on drilling machines by keeping the job stationary while giving both types of motion to the cutting tool. In contrast, drilling is done on a lathe machine by giving rotational motion to the workpiece and axial motion to the cutting tool. The cutting tool used in drilling operation is called drill.

drill usually High carbon steel or high speed steel are created from. High carbon steel drills are used for soft metals and high speed steel drills for hard metals. and production (Production) drills with carbide tip are used.
