About fire, what is fire, its causes and what are its types

What is fire?

Fire is the combustion/burning of any flammable material. When a substance is combusted, then heat and various types of reactions are created. The following three factors are there in the combustion of any substance-

  1. fuel
  2. heat
  3. oxygen

In the absence of any one of these three factors, the fire is extinguished. Therefore, to extinguish the fire or fire, any one of these three factors is removed by the yantra, due to which the fire is extinguished.

fire Types of

(1.)Category ‘A’ Agni

This category is known as Carbonaceous fire. Fire from wood, paper, cloth, jute etc. comes under this category. To extinguish this type of fire, cold water is showered.

(2.)Category ‘B’ Agni

This category is known as oily fire. This includes flammable liquids and solids; For example, the fire caused by kerosene, diesel, petrol etc.
To extinguish this type of fire, foam extinguishers and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers are used.

(3.)Category ‘C’ Agni

This category is known as gaseous fire. Under this comes the fire caused by LPG gas filled in cylinders etc. Due to this fire there is a possibility of explosion. If possible to extinguish this type of fire, cut off the gas supply or else ring the warning bell and call the fire extinguishers.
Dry chemicals like carbon dioxide, halon etc. are used to extinguish this fire.

(4.)Category ‘D’ Agni

This category is known as Lightning fire. It includes fire caused by electrical wires, equipment and other metallic materials. To extinguish this type of fire, carbon dioxide, dry powder and CTC type of equipment are used. Apart from this, dry sand can also be used.

  1. In case of fire by electricity, the main switch should be turned off as soon as possible.
  2. Do not extinguish a fire in oil or wax with water. For this use a foam fire extinguisher.
  3. If you have to go to a room that is on fire, you should sit down and go.
  4. In the factory, combustible materials like cotton waste should be thrown in the dustbin only.
  5. In case of fire, everyone should be informed by making a noise and calling for help.
  6. A small fire can take a terrible form, so at the very beginning, full of control should be done to control it.
  7. fire brigade And Immediately inform the higher officials of the factory.
  8. Do not throw water on electric motor etc. without main switch off.
