Devbhoomi is the beauty of Uttarakhand, which attracts tourists from all over the world. The snow-chested mountain range here, the lush green forests, rare wildlife living in the forests and the sacred range of pilgrimage sites draw nature lovers from every country to this place.

Geographical location of Uttarakhand-

The state of Uttarakhand is bordered by China (Tibet) and Nepal. Himachal Pradesh is located in the north-west of this northern state and Uttar Pradesh in the south.

Uttarakhand is situated on the southern slope of the Himalayan range. There is a lot of change in the weather and vegetation along with the altitude. If glaciers are located at the highest altitude here, then there is sub-tropical forest at the lower places. The highest places of the state are the Nagi peaks with snow and letters. Below them are places covered with grass and shrubs from 5000 to 3000 meters.

The temperate coniferous forests, the Western Himalayas, grow slightly below which line. The temperate West Himalayas are broad-leaved forests at an altitude of 3000 to 2600 m. The Gangetic plains have moist deciduous forests. Savannah and Khas land cover the lowland adjoining Uttar Pradesh. It is known as Bhabar in the local areas. Much of the low-lying land has been cleared for cultivation.

Major tourist places of Uttarakhand-

(a) Main National Park-In which state there are many national parks of India, such as Jim Corbett National Park in Ramnagar, Valley of Flowers National Park in Nainital district and Nanda Devi National Park in Chamoli district. It is both a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as a major tourist destination here.

,b) Char Dham of UttarakhandAccording to Indian religious texts, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are the major centers of tourism due to being the holiest places of Hindus. They are also known as Char Dham. It has been said in the religious texts that the virtuous souls who are successful in visiting here, not only their sins of this birth are washed away,

Rather, they are also freed from the bondage of life and death. It is also said in relation to this place that this is the place where earth and heaven unite. Pilgrims first visit Yamunotri and Gangotri during this journey. The traditional route for these pilgrims by taking holy water from here and performing Jalabhishek at Kedareshwar is as follows-

Haridwar – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Tehri – Dharasu – Yamunotri – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Trijuginarayan – Gaurikund – Kedarnath.

This route is similar to the sacred parikrama in traditional Hinduism, while the other route to Kedarnath is via Rishikesh via Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, August Muni, Guptkashi, and Gaurikund. The origin of Mandakini is near Kedarnath. The Mandakini river joins the Alaknanda river at Rudraprayag.

Facilities provided to tourists-

To promote tourism, the Uttarakhand government has paid special attention to the facilities provided to the tourists here. For this, good and wide roads have been constructed to reach all the tourist places. The roads have been given the status of National Highway and State Highway. Traffic has been made smooth by providing

Good arrangements have been made for accommodation and food for tourists on the Char Dham Marg. Special arrangements have been made here to deal with emergencies. Many tourist destinations are linked by air routes. In Kedarnath, arrangements have also been made for laser show for the pilgrims this year. In which many temples related to Lord Shiva are embodied on the walls.

Language of Uttarakhand-

Generally, three main languages are spoken in the state of Uttarakhand – Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari. According to the Indian Language People Survey, a total of 13 languages are spoken in the state of Uttarakhand. George Grierson, who was the first to survey the languages of Uttarakhand, had also given information about most of these languages.

After this many studies were done about the languages of Uttarakhand. Recently, an organization called Pakhandi worked on these languages. The entire work was focused on 13 languages. Among them, Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari, Jaunpuri, etc. languages are spoken. If it is considered that if a dialect has its own vocabulary, it expresses itself differently, then it should not hesitate to call it a language.

Many scholars believe that the languages of Uttarakhand do not have their own script, so we can say that the most famous English in the world does not have its own script. Can be known? The script of Marathi is Devanagari and it is considered as a language.

So there is no objection in accepting the languages of Uttarakhand as languages. A substantial amount of literature has been created in these languages of Uttarakhand. Through the promotion of these languages, the civilization and culture of Uttarakhand can be known more closely.
As much as the folk culture of Uttarakhand is the carrier of Indianness, the virtuous land and natural wealth here is more memorable and moist than that, we all together should try our best to preserve and promote these languages.
