Soil erosion is caused by human activities. Due to the increasing habitats and development of urban areas by man, large areas have become devoid of vegetation. With the removal of vegetation cover, there is a direct effect of wind and water on the naked land. This causes soil erosion.

Soil erosion is also caused by wrong plowing of the land.

Effects of Soil Erosion-

It has the following harmful effects-

1- Due to soil erosion, green forests turn into deserts, which disturbs the environmental balance.

2- Due to this the crop is not done properly, due to which there may be shortage of food.

In hilly areas, soil erosion can lead to landslides.

4- Due to this the land cannot hold water. The rapid flow of water into rivers can cause floods. This may result in loss of life and property.

Measures to prevent soil erosion-

For this we use the following methods-

1- By planting trees and growing grass.

2- By making proper drains for intensive farming and flow.

3-The speed of water flow can be reduced by making CD-shaped fields at Dalwa places.
