Who is the median?
The median is the middle number in an ordered, ascending or descending, list of numbers and can be more descriptive of that data set than the median.
Sometimes the mean is used in contrast to the mean when the sequence contains outliers that can skew the mean of the values.
If there is an odd amount of numbers, the median value is the number that is in the middle, with even numbers at the bottom and top.
If there is an even amount of numbers in the list, the middle pair must be determined, added together, and divided by two to find the median value. Median is classified in two ways, which are as follows-

1.Median for Grouped Data
It is calculated by the following formula
median = l + [n/2 – cf/f] × h
Wherel = lower limit of the median square
n = number of observations
f = frequency of median class
h = square-measure (assuming square-measure is equal)
cf = cumulative frequency of the class before the median class

2. Median for Ungrouped Data
It is computed as follows
Step (i) The values of the idea are placed in the order of magnitude.
Step (ii) The middle value is considered as the median.
If the number of values in the unprocessed data is n odd (odd), then putting them in the order of magnitude [n + 1/2] The th value will be the median. In this case it will have one and only one value.
On the other hand, if n is even, then the middle two values of the data placed in the order of magnitude i.e. [n/2] th and [n/2 + 1] They will be valued. In this case, any of these two middle values can be considered as median, but for the sake of certainty, their arithmetic mean is taken as median.

In other words about the median
of the median distribution middle score Is. to calculate the median
- Arrange your numbers in numerical order.
- Count how many numbers you have.
- If you have an odd number, divide by 2 and round to get the position of the middle number.
- If you have an even number, divide by 2. Go to the number in that position and average with the number in the next higher position to get the median.
Consider this set of numbers: 5, 7, 9, 9, 11 Since you have an odd number of digits, the median will be 9. You have five numbers, so you divide 5 by 2 to get 2.5, and round it up. The number in the third place is the median.
What happens when you have an even number of points so there is no single middle score? Consider this set of numbers: 1, 2, 2, 4, 5, 7 Since there is an even number of digits, you need to average the middle two digits, computing their mean.

याद रखें, माध्य की गणना अंकों को एक साथ जोड़कर और फिर आपके द्वारा जोड़े गए अंकों की संख्या से विभाजित करके की जाती है।
In this case, the mean would be 2 + 4 (add the two middle numbers), which equals 6. Then, you take 6 and divide it by 2 (the total number of digits you added), which equals 3. So, for this example, median 3 Is.
