Write the difference between aerobic and anaerobic respiration.

pneumatic respiration-

  1. Occurs in the presence of oxygen.
  2. The complete oxidation of glucose results in the formation of CO2 that water.
  3. Commonly found in all living beings.
  4. All the actions except glycolysis take place in the mitochondria.
  5. A considerable amount of energy is released.
  6. The contract of the released energy yields 38 ATP molecules, one molecule of glucose.

anaerobic respiration-

  1. Oxygen is not required.
  2. Complete oxidation does not take place, so alcohol or lactic acid and CO2 are formed.
  3. Occurs only in some plants, some animals or in their specialized tissues.
  4. All kinds of activities take place in the cytoplasm.
  5. A very small amount of energy is usually produced, 21-24 kilocalories.
  6. Only 2 more ATP can be obtained from one molecule of glucose.

Anaerobic respiration occurs in fungi like yeast and some bacteria. In the absence of oxygen in the muscles, lactic acid is formed.
